Consider the pyramid scheme, where one is at the top and everyone else is subservient and falls somewhere below, like a dictatorship. We have only known this system of civilizing and therefore everything else that works against that system is reprimanded. We now live in a democratic society which allows multiple "pyramids" fighting for the same cause resulting in the persons on top in conflict. I believe this is a revolutionary thing in our society because it forces everyone to choose a side where in the past there was no choice. And when people are forced to choose a side, they consider other aspects, opinions, etc. Hopefully this will have a lasting impression and we as a society may breakthrough this "sheep-like" cycle of unrealistic religion and nationalism.
