Azhi,
I have thought about this question before. My answer is... I don't know. It seems like if I had the ability to live forever, I'd get bored after a while. Not only that, but if I just aged and aged and aged, with no end in site, I'd be sedentary...my aching back... my neck...my knees...can't see...can't hear. Interesting how when you are in the mother's womb you can't see, hear, etc. and when you are born you can't control your bladder and as you get really old, you can't see or hear, nor control your bladder...

And if I could live forever without the physical pains of aging, would I still want to? I don't know.

The other day you said something about how you have accepted that when you die you die and that's it. I think that you may be going too far, even for an athiest. Your body energy may dissipate into the atmosphere and you may enter some sort of unimaginable state of consciousness. Instead of being religious and saying "There IS an afterlife", and instead of taking the opposite extreme and saying "There is NO afterlife", why not just accept, like Socrates, that you and I don't have the answer and that we never will.

P.S. While you are still on this Earth, why not enjoy some Bamia.

;-)

Thank you for your compliments regarding the paper. I think that I could have done better.

Was it obvious that Gilgamesh is the favorite out of the three myths?
