I`m afraid there`s a contradiction in terms right there. Religions that espouse one god and one god only are already on the path to unhinging their own follower`s minds. It`s too powerful a concept that can easily serve to give weaker headed people the feeling that their god must be the best, if he is the only...and almost anything done in his name is done to glorify him...after all to reject the ONE god is an Evil act in itself...how can you live and allow such an insult to pass unchallenged. No no...religion breeds intolerance and sooner or later there`ll have to be a showdown. All the religious leaders are subject to tax laws and other power that emmanates from the political leaders and in the end they can`t defy City Hall...and City Hall may want to do horrific things and expect the Clergy to back them up...and which religious leader can defy City Hall? Religions today are corporations and they have to think about bottom lines too. --------------------- |
