For the life of me I can't condemn Saddam without condeming Abraham Lincoln...George Washington, George Bush or Napoleon. I don't know what made Alexander "Great" except maybe roaming the world killing people. I simply refuse to be baited and "taught" by the newspapers, media and publishing houses owned and operated by subsidiaries of Halliburton, Exxon or the Church. From my point of view...ruling any country in the MidEast, especially if it came through the last days of the Ottoman Empire...suffered wanton attacks during the Crusades...has been beaten to the ground by the Brits and then the US...and yet still having people within try as best they can to forge a civilized and cohesive society, against all odds, with every white man and his cousin feeling free to muck about with them all they damn well please...makes it a heroic effort any way you cut it. Saddam did a lot of good...and he'll pay a hundred fold for the bad he did. But this isn't Justice and it isn't Right. It's Christianity with its gloves off. The Nazis had no trouble chucking Andys into the flames as well...for they were REAL Christians...don'tcha know. --------------------- |
