.....I just finished staring at your mould and realised that the Blue Lotus is shown in a continous series of open and closed patterns. This may have had more significance for our ancient ancestors. Because the Blue Lotus flower is a symbol of rebirth because it closes at night and submerges under the water. In the morning, it resurfaces above the water and brings forth another flower in bloom. What I'm trying to say is that the Blue Lotus besides having the propoerties mentioned above it may also have symbolised either our ancient God Tammuz and his death and rebirth which was represented by the Akitu Festival (rebirth) and the Noosardel festival (return to the underworld and submerged under water) or the world's natural continous cycle. Or perhaps both. --------------------- |
