Tiglath, I disagree with you wholeheartedly. By today’s standard, just as any Empire of the past, Assyrian Empire more/less has done its share of terrorizing women, children, elderly, men first against its own people and second against neighboring STATES? Assyrian Empire just as today’s “High Cabal” had its own elites and people of power that for their own greed eliminated Assyrian people liberty, freedom and democracy. For their own pockets, these elite campaigned and conquered states and terrorized other nations people and soon after they became the slaves that were brought to the capital to build those grandeur monuments and palaces. At the same time, I think there were groups of people like Assurhaddon (Ashurhaddon a.k.a. Esarhaddon) that invested in brining peace and harmony and closing the gap between High Cabal-elite and the rest of the citizens in the Empire. I just can not claim Assyrian Empire respected humanity and human rights. Just as the Empires of the past, they did what was good for the High Cabal-Elite and not the majority of the people-working class and the rest of the humanity. --------------------- |
