here we see Jesus sitting in the patio. He has a gorgeous red velvet robe, when he´s dressed. I´ve never understood this penchant for dressing him, or painting him, as if he was a rich banker. Must be the Roman influence. In one chapel here he´s wearing a gold robe..and it looks real too. The image is jarring to say the least..what happened to the meek inheriting anything? I would think a rough robe of homespun, stained and torn...even mended... from hard work and all would be far more powerful. --------------------- |
