that wasn't depressing at all....it was filled with Truth...and truth is truth...it isn't joyous or sad...it isn't a color...it's just what it is...the Joy comes from recognizing it as such. I agree that capitalism is just another form of slavery...like Feudalism was before it...maybe more effective because it allows the slaves the hope of one day becomming a little Master themselves, a millionaire too maybe...but all of the systems we've invented so far depend on exploitation...all of them...and we may be nearing our limit...if nothing else the planet itself will give us a rude shock and rebel...much as people have when they can endure no more. Your description of Baghdad contrasts BEAUTIFULLY with that of the Reverend Joseph who saw Baghdad through an ice cream cone at some joint where everyone was singing the praises of a new day in Iraq. You are a joy to read and contemplate...you never depress...you give hope. It's these boys of ours who make you shake your head in disbelief and want to go hide somewhere and weep in shame. You and I simply MUST have coffee one day...somewhere in the world...we are of the world after all...it's our coffee shop. --------------------- |
