...fellow there tells me Jesus said, "blessed be the peacemakers" and the rest of it... Jesus never said that...Jesus was a Jew and they believed in human sacrifice. An Assyrian said that and so much more...but we'll never know because a million cuneiform tablets have been re-buried in museums and vaults and we're assured they all just contain boring old business documents...like the bible is an exciting read!...also like the Dead Sea Scrolls were hidden away in "scholarship" for fifty years till they were accidentally released. You'd think the discovery that we had Utnapishtim before their Noah and the story of Sargon's birth was ripped off for Moses as was so much of our culture...and we never would have known had not the shovels in the BetNahrain begun to reveal our treasures. Instead we still run after those people and run after them and give them credit they never earned...while we also sing the praises of what Paul Younan aptly calls his Pisheeta...and in the meanwhile Jews go in droves to study Assyriology, on scholarships provided by Jews so they can tell us what the Assyrians were. Ahiqar had more wisdom in his little finger than Moses or Jesus ever had...you don't like that...do you? --------------------- |
