I suppose it could be considered bragging to even bring up the Ashurbanipal Monument when I'm the one who made it...but when does something just become a fact of life? It's there...in San Francisco. It is what it is...the frst Assyrian public monument anywhere in 2500 years. What am I supposed to do, deny it? I use it to make a point. For one thing how can I be anti-Assyrian or a member of Al Qaida, whatever that's supposed to mean, or a traitor and the rest of it? It wasn't easy making it and if I wanted to be a traitor it seems to me I'd have done something else...like maybe cheer on the United States to attack Iraq on trumped up charges and support its murderous Sanctions. The question I'm asking is what have these fervent lovers of Assyria done in the meantime? The only evidence of any life I see is churches, churches and more churches...that and the claim that building churches is exactly the same as being Assyrian, as well as several petitions and complaints and that may be the problem of village life, you don't know much what to do about things in the big city, let alone the big world. To even think about a seperate section in Iraq that will be nothing more than a Christian enclave in a sea of pissed as hell Muslims...even more angry now that the same shennanigans as we've pulled in the past of helping out what is nothing more than a foreign occupying force, have resulted in our OWN COUNTRY...is madness. Who will protect us from what we never tire of claiming are peple who have been "killing us for centuries and want nothing more than to wipe us out"? Well, haven't we just given them all that much MORE reason to do so...and isn't it handy that we've now huddled together in one spot so as to make even easier targets of ourselves? This business of expecting to be given back what was "ours" is not only absurd and flies in the face of all historical usage and precedent as well as logic and the way things are done in the real world...but all we have to do is look at what the United States and Britain have done to the Palestinians to see that the very people we are expecting to back these "legitimate" claims and give us a sympathetic ear, are themselves helping steal the land that legitimately belongs to and has belonged to the Palestinian people, who are also Christian in great numbers. This is an injusice that is occuring RIGHT NOW...not one that happened 1300 year ago. Where have any pleas for fair treatment and indigenous rights gotten the Palestinians? Not only that but if such an unprecedented thing were to take place it would only happen because outside forces imposed it and they would also have to maintain us there for, like Israel, we'd be broke and in need of constant bailing out. Could that REALLY be the attraction...could that be behind the thinking of our patriots? Do they see an endless supply of bucks flowing from the United States Treasury to an Assyria...the way they see it going to Israel? Do they imagine themselves in control of huge amounts of dollars...of tanks and airplanes and contracts galore? If the United States plants us, it's going to have to water us constantly...piss on us to be exact. And then won't we reap the whirlwind? Won't it be our children being blown up by "insurgents' and "outside" forces? What Muslim will accept the imposition of yet another foreign, Christian, Western postage stamp sized country which will prove to be nothing more than aother staging ground and attack dog for the Crusaders...as they see Israel has been. European Jews were sort of "constrained" and forced to leave Berlin and Vienna and Warsaw to go live in a parking lot surrounded by hostile Muslims...made so by this further step in Christianity's "Final Solution". But we are Christians...remember? We can raise our families in Paris, London, New York and yes, even Turlock and Chicago. Who in their right minds would take their children and go live in the midst of a sea of mad as hell Muslims? Not any of the people clamoring for an "Assyria" right now from coffee shops and Malls and apartment complexes in Chicago...that's for damn sure. Peter does brag. He brags a lot...so does Aprim and the rest of the boys. Only they don't brag about what they've done or plan to do. They brag about wat's been DONE TO THEM, helpless little old them...even as far back as 700 AD...because they take even the Muslim conquest personally, like they take satire or any joke directed at their pompous nonsense..as if it was aimed at them, 1300 years before they were even conceived...and the same goes for every atrocity and misstep and hangnail any Christian ever suffered. They brag about massacres and martyrs and failures...they brag about Christianity and don't see how they slander Assyrians when they claim Christianity made us strong and kept us together. This is srong? This is together? --------------------- |
