...telling an official of the United States Bush coup to be "judicious in his interventions" is like asking a rapist not to penetrate too hard...come again?...ahem. The United States has had a free hand to murder and rob Iraq for years now...and NOW they bring up being judicious...like it fools anybody into thinking they too are "agonizing" and "pondering" whom to kill next...judiciously.

Otherwise, Islamists will assume that the U.S. will not oppose them, or even is anxious to propitiate them,

...bullshit...no one has done more to destabilize Muslim society and be SURE only the extremists rise to the top and has suppressed and worked against EVERY moderate to liberal and sane force within Islam...no one but the United States which played this same game all over Southeast Asia and anywhere else they first wanted to create chaos they could then come in and "propitiate".

...you really think they`d back democratic and sane and free-market Islam...with all that Petroleum just waiting to be liberated? yeah...right!

The debates over Islam and the state in Iraq will continue for many years after the U.S. leaves, but what we do and say now, and the institutions we leave behind us, will have a major effect on the shape and outcome of those debates.
