If you should read this, remember that Hanna and other thunkers denied there were any Assyrian kids in Iraq...any who were likely to be killed by 13 years of sanctions and war. Now...when he needs to donate the crap he can[t sell...he discovered Assyrian kids in Iraq. I LOVE his conditions...to the Marines! Assyrian Forum Re: The Marines Who Liberated Baghdad Need Our Help Posted By: Hanna Hajjar (ACC6BA97.ipt.aol.com) Date: Tuesday, 6 January 2004, at 2:41 p.m. In Response To: The Marines Who Liberated Baghdad Need Our Help (Mazin Enwiya) : : http://www.spiritofamerica.net/req_6/request.html The following e-mail was sent to above organization: To: the Staff of Spirit of America, Dear Sir, I was in the toy business in the past, and had designed several children's educational toys. I still have some board games called "Chain Reaction" which teach English Vocabulary and Mathematics as well as an entertaining game of Six-in-a-Row game. I also have Children’s educational videos but those require a TV, VCR as well as electricity to operate (which I don’t think that the infrastructure of Iraq is ready for yet). I would like to donate some of those games to the children of Iraq; however viewing your website “Spirit of America”, the impression I got is alarming (please correct me if I got the wrong impression), based on what I saw I resent the fact that you are selective in your help, and discriminating against certain ethnic groups in Iraq. On your website I see statements such as: • Help "Kurdish Kids" Make Music Again. • The Marines want to help children like these and improve relations with Iraqis in “the Sunni Triangle”. Please don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind you helping Sunni Kurds and Arabs, but not all Iraqis are Sunnis! So I wonder what about other Iraqi Children? With all due respect, Iraq is not made of "Sunni Kurds" and "Sunni Arabs" only! • What about "Assyrian Kids"? • What about the "Assyrian Triangle"? (If you want to talk about “Triangles”, then don’t be selective, you should talk about all “Triangles”). • What about "Turkoman Kids"? And • What about "Shiite Arabs"? • What about “Christian Iraqis”? A kid is a kid, irrespective of his ethnicity, religion, color, or gender; in simple terms a kid is a human being PERIOD! This is what America is all about; this is what makes America great; so please stick to our great American values! And please don’t discriminate against Assyrians, Turkomans, and Shiites the way the evil dictator Saddam Hussein did! It is an insult to art when you believe that only Kurdish kids should make music while Assyrian, Turkoman and Arab kids should be deprived from Music making! As an Assyrian-American, I look at all Iraqi kids as equals! And unlike you, I do not discriminate against any ethnic group. I wish I have the funds to help every Iraqi kid irrespective of his/her ethnic origin, but since I don’t have that capability, I would donate a number of toys within my means. As much as I want to help and donate to Iraqi kids, I want to make sure that my donation of toys is equally distributed to Assyrian, Turkomen, Arab, and Kurdish kids, in the ration of 25% to each ethnic group. Based on this, here are my simple conditions: If you can be even handed in distribution (and I expect a physical proof of that) I will donate a certain amount of my “Chain Reaction Toys” to Iraqi kids, but if you are going to discriminate against any Iraqi ethnic group, I would respectfully decline my donation, because I believe that the American Spirit is about equality, and is not about ethnic discrimination! God Bless America, and our Troops. Respectfully, Hanna Hajjar (An Assyrian-American) 1/6/2004 --------------------- |
