The one glaring problem with calls for a partnership between Turkmen, Kurds and Assyrians is that one of these groups is Christian...and insists it can ONLY be Christian and is REALLY Christian and FOREVER Christian. Now why these other ethnic groups, who are all Muslims...those hated, bloodthirsty Muslims, would ever want to join up with such a small minority of what can only be to them, now more than ever, representatives of the same religion that's all but declared another Crusade and mounted it already against them and their religion, killing 500,000 of their children alone...is worth exploring. I can't imagine how a Muslim group would fare in the United States if it wanted to ally itself with Christian groups so it could get "equal protection and rights". I doubt it would be welcome. We're paying the same price we paid in 1915-18, with Simele and with the Levies of Iraq. In The Ottoman Empire we got clobbered because we were Christians and looked upon with suspicion and understandably so and in Iraq we again allied ourselves with the occupying British forces and caught the hell we so richly deserved...as our people are again catching it for working with and before that eagerly, even joyously, suporting the American AND British atacking and now occupying forces. This is part of what we get for emphasizing our Christianity so much...at the cost of our Assyrianism. We have done nothing, as Assyrians, but build churches and clamor for more religious freedom...and in doing so we have made ourselves more and more odious and distrusted...especially as we've made no secret of looking to the Christian West for salvation, when they aren't in that line of work and never have been. I believe our "leaders"...who are either Christians or using Christianity, look at Israel and think to themselves..."Hmmm, the Jews are hated by their Arab neighbors yet against all odds the West has planted them there and poured billions upon billions into keeping them there...well why can't they plant another "detested minority" in that region and pour billions and billions of dollars into ME"? I could see how they would think that way. But they aren't thinking of the price we would pay...AGAIN. They never have. It's a religious thing and then a status thing...they are willing to play at being martyrs and politicians...of doing this "thing" for Christ...of offering us all up again as sacrifices to his "glory" and depositing the check in the Bank of Assyria. It would be more accurate to describe us, not as "Never Forgetting!"...but rather, "Never Learning!". --------------------- |
