...while all soldiers have nightmares...even from killing other soldiers...in recent American wars soldiers have been devastated by nightmares and persistant memories of what they did to people...plain old people..like themselves, mothers and fathers and their children..for those are the enemies anymore.

In Boot Camp they don`t prepare them to kill children..that comes later. In Boot Camp they play war games against each other...all men and women dressed to kill fighting others dressed to kill...when they get to Iraq however there are no soldiers in uniform..there aren`t even hooded people they can get at..so they wind up on rooftops shooting women who go shopping.

The ones who will really live in hell...the ones whose lives ended the day they arrived in Iraq are the the Christian boys and girls whose parents came from Iraq..the Christians who claim to be Assyrian and to prove it have gone back there with an invading force to kill their own people. These boys and girls are going to be shooting their brothers and sisters..their cousins who look and act and maybe even speak just like they do..or did. They`re going to have to bend over a forty-five year old woman..lift her dress and search up her butt for WMDs while her Assyrian daughter watches...

These soldiers are dead already..they`ll just walk around in Turlock with their medals...and they`ll be hated...and they deserve to be..and they`ll know it..they`ll know it more and more with each passing year..the memories will never leave them..they`ll never again believe they did the right thing..that they protected anybody...that they liberated anybody..the truth will sink in and sink them.

They know what I mean already.
