...isn`t the vote. If that were the case corporations would be content to go vote. Power is money and money is power...if you can`t see that at work, what can anyone say to you? I don`t mean in some metaphysical way intended to reduce us all to ciphers in a social econ experiment...I mean in practical things..things that can determine if the poet...who has more power than any money...can eat or not while she writes her poetry. It may be that the deprivation will make it a more powerful poem..or it may be that poets died in Iraq as children, victims of US corporate politics gone mad and we`ll never know.

The vote is less than useless as millions attest already by not even bothering to use it..and now that the rest of us saw our vote didn`t even count...there should be even less intererst in it as a way to change things...add to that the fact that money determines who we even get to vote for...and you`ve done as much to damage democracy as any Liberating Gang Rapist soldier.

Since money talks..and money buys politicnas...we have to ask ourselves where corporations get all this cash. The answer is they get it from us..and most of it comes in at Chrismastime. I think H. Rap Brown said if we wanted the Vietnam War stopped all we had to do was boycott Christmas shopping. It`s that simple. The opposite is also true...the more of our wealth the corporations get the more they want to get and the more they have to buy the people and institutions they need in order to get more from us.

They bought the Media and that was their biggest and best purchase from which they`ll reap vast dividends..hell in some cities in America they are now giving the newspapers away free...in San Francisco the newspaper was cut in price by half. Where else could that happen? Point is corporations can afford to run their media arm at a loss..because it really isn`t a loss..they more than make up for what they lose in the price of the newsprint with what they make in sales..and I don`t mean sales of cars or refrigerators..I mean sale of the news...sale of the type and content and even what they choose to BE the news.

Let them control that long enough and you`ll have all the wars you think you need as well as all the new diets...discredited old diets...new cancer cures..new warnings about old cures and new stampedes for newer new cures. They give the newspapers they bought up away for a good readon. If it didn`t look too damn obvious they`d PAY you to let them into your house and head.

Only by affecting their bottom line can you make them rich and powerful..or send them back to do what they started out to do..make soap. Money corrupts as much as power does and they`ve got way too much of our money...money we should control as much as we do after it leaves us as when we sweat over it and nurse it in the bank and in our wallets. It`s still our money...even when it goes into their accounts...like their wars become the wars our children fight in even when we vote no.
