...some people say there`s no reason why you can`t be Assyrian and Christian too...well it seems Christians are far more interested in their pisheetas and what`s in that infernal book and who wrote it and when and where and which is true and which is truer and realer...and did those guys lie and why would they and is it meat or is it cookies and what about the wine and all them saints and Mars and the rest of it...and no one wants to know what they could ACTUALLY KNOW...about THEIR OWN PEOPLE...written in THEIR LANGUAGE...in THEIR WORDS by THEIR OWN SCRIBES...these tablets can die, rot and go to hell for all any Christian cares...so you tell me...CAN a person be Christian and Assyrian too? Or do they just mean DOUBLE Christian when they use...misuse...the word "Assyrian"? I see precious little evidence of any interest in things Assyrian by Christians. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Written by Shushan on 13 Mar 2004 00:51:07: Does anyone have any links to online english translations of the Pesheta? Is it just the New Testament? Does it contain the same Gospels and the other Psalms, Apocyloypse etc.? I read once that Thomas started the Church of the East in Edessa only a couple of years after Christ' death. Is that true? And then does the Church of the East include the Gospel of Thomas that the Catholic Bible omits? Does anyone have any online links to the book called Eclesiastike translated to English since it is claimed to have the direct preaching of Jesus' direct apostles. For some reason I can not find any conclusive or good links on these questions with the keywords I am using in search engines. Thanks in advance --------------------- |
