If the Kurds demand a Kurdistan, then Assyrians are entitled to an Assyria, and Tukomen are entitled to a Turkomania too, and the Arabs are entitled to the balance of Iraq. ...you are not indigenous...you can repeat it all you want to..you can try to bamboozle younger Christians into believing all you want to..like your preiest whispered it your ears all your lives...it isn`t true and everyone else in the world knows it...that`s why no one pays any attention because even if it was true..so what? Kurds have about 20,000,000 in population spread over four countries; Turkey, Syria, Iraq, and Iran, and they already are claiming parts of these countries as; north, west, south and east Kurdistan respectively. Their presence in large numbers and their claims threaten the securities of those neighboring countries and that is where the strong opposition to a fabricated Kurdistan lies. Kurds are still living with a nomadic mentality where they think that everywhere a Kurd moves to, and lives in, becomes a part of Kurdistan, they moved to Turkey, Iraq and Syria, and now they claim parts of these countries as North, South and West Kurdistan respectively, currently there are large numbers of Kurds living in Germany and Armenia, what next? When are they going to claim part of Germany as north-west Kurdistan? ...about the same time the European Jews claimed Palestine. You still haven`t learned a basic lesson...in this world crybabies, no matter how indigenous and pure, get nothing. The Mosul Vilayet (Nineveh Province, Nineveh being the ancient capital of Assyria), was part of the Ottoman Empire before 1915, but so was the whole Middle East, although some Turks still have hopes in reclaiming this region, their justification would be identical to Saddam’s justification of claiming Kuwait as being part of Iraq (its 19th province based on the same reasoning that Kuwait was a province of Iraq during the Ottoman Empire period). Additionally, one of the reasons Turkey dropped the Mosul province was to settle the Assyrians who were ethnically cleansed from Anatolia in Turkey in 1915. The original deal was that Assyrians would drop claims to their lands on the Turkish side of the border, and in return Turkey would give up the Mosul province to Assyrians. What happened was that the British (having found oil in that region) didn’t deliver their promises to the Assyrians, and instead they brought in Faisal who is not even an Iraqi (he was an Arab from Hijaz, Saudi Arabia) and crowned him king of Iraq. ...they fought that war BECAUSE they knew there was oil...the Brits didn`t accidentally discover oil AFTER. This is a brief looks at the current geopolitical situation in Iraq from an Assyrian point of view, not that we are discounting the point of views of other ethnic groups, but rather presenting our perspective just like every one else.
