[ View Thread ] [ Post Response ] [ Read Prev Msg ] [ Read Next Msg ] repopulating northern iraq Posted By: Nile (170.97.67.115) Date: Friday, 14 May 2004, at 3:25 p.m. Your point is well made. However economic development is needed as an impetus to encourage people to the north for population sustainability. Secondly, more people may be willing to move to a Chaldo-Assyrian capital of a Chaldo-Assyrian administrative unit if they were able to find economic sustainablity as well as assurances of a higher quality of life both in terms of social activities and a vibrant civil society. Even if the Governing council does not officially endorse a province or administrative unit despite the temp const, Assyrians could form a defacto province. Luckly we have a society that would be able achieve success if given the opportunity. Unfortunately, we do not have the massive capital nor the political savyness to achieve this goal. This is why I proposed earlier that social, economic, cultural institutions be established in a selected capital (Al Qosh ie). Then, projects could be instituted to repopulate the remaining villages by the Chaldo-Assyrian communities in the diaspora. ...ah, if words would only do. This is more of the "pie in the sky after the Americans drop by" scenario. America..the nation that liberates Darkies...and gives them economic and military aid just because it`s a nice guy. How these people get off on words...and shy so far away from doing anything besides calling on others to step forward. ...The picture they`re trying to paint is such a ditzy one based on whipped cream...makes no sense at all...for decades and centuries they`ve been held down and denied and suppressed and beaten...they`ve been escaping as they could...trying to go to all the havens in the West from which these nationalists plan the future Iraq...and now there`s a rosy future..if only enough of them can be induced to go back and reap their just rewards..what they deserve and what`s coming to them..if there`s an Allah anywhere. It`s as if the Sanctions and the war and the butt-fucking will have made no difference in their status at all...it`s as if this war was just what the Christians in the country needed...for some reason the Kurds and Arabs and Mickey Mouse too are now going to stand back..all those dire things that happened to make them run aren`t going to happen..Iraq will be pacified and prosperity will be airlifted in. And of course they`re going to call on all Asstians everywhere to contribute financially to an Asstian "presence"...and that presence is going to be a far more comfortable and pleasant one than what the Muslims can count on..and that won`t breed envy and desires for revenge and pretty things to steal and people to kill over trifles. This kind of attack against a nation has never brought peace. It`s one thing when you defeat a nation`s army in warfare and then rumble in to secure the peace and leave. It`s another when you kill their babies first and ruin their country by making war on the people and then you come in and stay... pick their government for them and throw even more of them in jail and abuse them and spread the photos all over the world. I STILL find it hard to believe that people can be this stupid..and then I realize they can`t be and they aren`t. All these grand schemes are dreamed up in the idle brains of taxi drivers and truck drivers and welfare heroes and the handful who have dreams of leading this prowd nayshun. The Christians in Iraq I don`t think are fooled for a minute. Sure, they took the medicine and food packages and aid when they had no choice...but in this new Iraq, knowing that their leaders want them to stay put so Asstia can grow on their blood and secured by calls for the Americans to rush in and help them...in this new world ordered to-go Iraq...there will be no peace that isn`t enforced by a foreign gun...and foreigners will get tired of it eventually. Iraqis won`t rest till the occupation forces are driven out...whoever they are...and the festering wounds left will have to be healed starting on that day...and scores WILL be settled..and every one of these leaders from hell knows that full well. There is no chance of a Christian enclave or district in Iraq..there never was and there certainly never will be now. Christians there have sealed their fate in this last war...this isn`t just British occupation..this is one of the most cruel and inhumane wars in modern history. The difference between Kanna and me is that I don`t want to profit from any part of it..and I`m willing to say what`s far more likely to happen than he is...what happened to "Remember Simele" anyway? Is THIS the time to spread these rosy scenarios and urge people to go BACK to Simele? And wait??? --------------------- |
