I think I mentioned that I'm in a new lab now. Just because I speak softly doesn't mean that I'm not strong.... I have approached people about this issue within my department and in the administration of my school - don't worry.

Again, the only reason I was telling you about my experience was to give you some idea of what life is like for a lot of women in science, not to merely complain, but to show you why I give a damn about feminist issues.

Yes, my Liberian friend has a LOT to go through - much more than me - but you know, I might not have been able to be so supportive of him if I hadn't experienced sexism where I am.
