Now that we know Paul is an original Jew...it still leaves us with the fact that NO one ever converted willingly to Christianity..from any PAGAN cultures..that would be NON-Jewish in origin..though those people were bloodier than anyone else back then...but let that go for now...no Armenians believing in their own religions EVER threw them away willingly for something so uncongenial and totally foreign. Before we get ten more posts asking for dates..I`ll just say I have none...no proof to offer...except I`d like someone to show me ONE instance when any pagan culture...up to today...threw away anything for Jesus....I`m basing my statement on the implausibility of the Church`s ridiculous contention...ANY CHRISTIAN church!!! As well as the known and bloody recoed of forced conversions everywhere else in the world. The few instances Paul mentioned are ones in which the dominant culture was hardly impressed...they adopted his version of Christianity here and there..in small pockets..as we have lots of weird sects of Christianity..as well as the Protestant Reformation and all the sects IT spawned..where no one was ORIGINALLY forced to convert..not until they had the power to force conversions and then they went to it pell mell..slaughtering people into Christ. Paul`s examples prove my point..not his...I say where people were given the free choice, the overwhelming majority stayed right where they were...how then do we explain for the SAME Jew-based, Messiah laced religion SWEEPING everywhere else? We account for it by looking at who was weilding the broom..and what we know of how they did it..in other words...it`s the Romans and they forced and murdered people into Jesus...after depressing and inspiring the growth of the Messiah complex in Paul. All we`ve accomplished, it seems to me, is proving Paul is a Jew...proving that Dean doesn`t have the encyclopedias he said he had..and that all cultures who came to Christ, forsaking their own ways, were killed and brutalized into it..and oh yes...wherever Christianity didn`t use violence it remained a minor something or other for 2000 years..and shows no signs of gaining any ground in the next 10,000. All of which shows us that it had absolutely no earth shattering anything to it...and CERTAINLY not for the people of Ashur. I rest my case...and Paul can be a Jew...he has Ashur`s blessings, I am sure. Speaking for him let me say we never meant you people any harm and next time get your own stories. --------------------- |
