About the Author Vanessa Denha has an eclectic personal and professional background; she is a woman who wears many hats. She spent eight years wearing the broadcaster's cap as a reporter and talk show host on WJR 760 AM (a 50,000-watt Detroit radio station), and she currently produces and hosts a half-hour weekly show, It's Your Community, on 96.3 WDVD and 93.1 WDRQ in Detroit. She sported a writer's beret as a long-time columnist (Between You and Me) for Detroit-based Women's HealthStyle magazine. She is co-founder and editor of the Detroit-based magazine The Chaldean News. As a professional speaker, Vanessa often wears her conversational hat when speaking to various groups as she facilitates the "SitChat" series discussions. Her journalist career dates back to 1993 when she created, hosted and produced Community Focus, a weekly one-hour Detroit cable TV show that attracted more than 150,000 viewers.
