We know that Christians got along just fine in Iraq...with several owning businesses, working in government, education and at the higest levels. So what`s the problem? It`s the religion, that and names. If you ask the boys if they reallly really want to live in BetNahrain...then why are they in every country BUT Iraq? They`ll tell you they were discriminated against and forced to flee. But that`s a lie..okay, it`s not the truth. The Iraqi government didn`t throw all Christians out and they have nothing against Assyrians whatsoever. The boys will merely state that those Christians in Iraq are traitors to Assyria and kiss ass etc. Mind you, those are the same ones they`re counting on to keep Assyria...while these heroes run to the West. Their blustering nonsense that ONLY Christians can be Assyrians and therefore Christians have a prior claim to the land...is what makes them unwelcome...as well it should. There`s no crime..no outrage...no injustice there. The boys are loyal to Christianity first of all...but they go a step farther and say Assyrian is the same thing...then they use that clever trick to demand an Assyria for CHRISTIANITY...which of course fools no one. Any country would show them to the door...who needs them and for what? The country is Iraq, not Assyria...and as far as religion goes..worship any way you want so long as you don`t use your religion to make a specious "prior" claim to the land. If the Christians get to be Assyrians..then the Muslims are too regardless of the halfwit arguments and proooves they dump on the floor. If that`s the case, then what diffferece does religion make to an "Assyria"? If the majority are satisfied with the name Iraq..and also appreciate their Muslim Assyrian Islamic Empire...then that`s the end of that...Iraq is inhabited by Assyrians of two major religious groups...and let it go. Christians have no basis for a claim to the land based on their say so that they are the ONLY real Assyrians..bullshit! The boys don`t love BetNahrain..they love Christianity...and half of them only love it because they think it will be a legitimate means to get back some land which they can miscall Assyria...when it`s just a Christian ghetto. If you gave them the choice to stay in Iraq and never make these claims again or go talk their heads off somewhere else..they`d leave...if you said they could stay but had to become Muslim and could still eat and dance and sing whatever they wanted to, but that the Christian religion was no longer allowed...they`d leave in an instant. And where would they leave for? Do you suppose if every country on earth was Muslim they`d go anywhere? Probably not. But the fact that they`ll leave their "dear" Homeland for almost any country that`s Christian...tells you what`s the most important to them..it isn`t the land.the mountains, the flowers, the rivers and all that mush in Jassim`s poetry...no, it`s Christ they want to be next to and they`ll go anywhere and do anything to remain close to him..to a nice Jew. But even then...once in the West they all lose that sens eof urgency for Christ they had when they were the only game in town..but surrounded by Christ worshippers..even that loses its special appeal..and they become nothing..which at core they always were...nothing I mean. Being in "Assyria" isn`t important to them. Being in a Christian country is. Iraq, under any religion, is still the closest place on earth to the most original orgin of the Assyrians...if you loved ASSYRIANS..then youŽd love them regardless of their religion..even though their original religion was Ashurism and not a Jew knock-off. But the boys don`t love BetNahrain..you can see that in the way they support its destruction..in order to "save" it. They could stay and don`t even have to become Muslim...but they won`t. They want an "Assyria"...that must be Christian..and if they can`t have that, fuck the "dear" homeland and Chicago here we come. They don`t mind losing every memory of those hills etc..they don`t mind their children becoming Americanized...they don`t mind that in two generations their children could give a damn about the land or anything...even though you could keep them in BetNahrain`where they`re at least be close to the roots of our culture...their dingbat parents want them in a Christian country..anything but a Muslim country. So what`s most important to the boys? Christ...or Ashur? And obviously they aren`t the same thing at all...because if they were even close, there would have been no need at all to cross over to anything..even if it was only two steps...why wouldn`t the greater attract the lesser? Now which of the boys is going to say Ashur is the greater..greater than Christ? I rest my case...the Assyrian case. --------------------- |
