If a person is Christian American or French Muslim or Chinese Buddhist, it`s obvious which god he or she follows and which nationality he or she is. If a person is Jewish American, or a German Jew...there`s still a clear distinction made between church and state...one god and one nation. People of any particular Faith usually have the name of their god incorporated into their religion`s name..."Christ-ians" are those who follow Christ....Judaism is "Yehuda-ism"....to be a Muhammedan is to be a follower of Muhammad who, though not a god himself or the son of one, is still your gateway to Allah...to be Assyrian is to be "Ashur-ian", those who follow Ashur. When Assyria was a nation it incorporated the god`s name in its political and national name. There are few modern countries...well none actually, that are designated by their god`s name...not America, Paraguay, Great Britain, Argentina, Mongolia, Egypt...no country, no nation today describes itself by its god`s name, except Israel...but even in that nation there are Muslims...who are more accurately describe as Israeli-Muslims than as Israeli-Arabs...for they come not from Arabia but follow a religion that came from Arabia. In any case, Israel is the only one that tips its hand at what state religion it has and then only because the Jews remained true to the same god they had when they WERE a nation-religion. Assyrians haven`t done that...they turned to another god...gave up their indigenous god but for some strange reason kept his name..kept describing themselves as the followers of Ashur when they became the followers of Christ, a Jew. One can be Assyrian American as one can be American-Christian...but how can you be Christian Assyrian? There`s no indication of any modern state in that name..instead there`s the mention of TWO gods...of Ashur and Christ...only the one is passed off as a "nationality", which it isn`t...while the other contains the name of the god , Christ. How can that be...how do you follow two gods? If you are an Israeli Christian...youmean by you were born in the country of that name, not under it`s state religion..your religion is Christianity...you couldn`t call yourself a Jew Christian..because the term "Jew" designates a religion, not the country...not Israel..which as a national name can incorporate any religion..you can be an Isareli MUSLIM..but you can`t be a JEW Muslim...for there are two gods in your name and you can`t follow two gods. And to sidestep the issue by claiming Assyria still exists as a "nation" goes nowhere because there is no political entity delineated by recognized boundries with any of the trappings which make a modern nation..if you want to think of a Cherokee Nation, that`s fine so long as you know there isn`t now and never was a nation known a "Cherhokia". We use a name that hails back to a time when your religion WAS your nationality...which is clearly not the case in our times..save for Israel which, again, only gets away with it because they kept the god they had when they WERE a political entity recognized by other nations of their day AS a nation. You can be an American Jew...but you can`t be a Christian Jew...you can be a Chinese Jew..but you can`t be a Buddhist Jew...you can be an Egyptian Jew, but you can`t be a Muslim Jew...you can`t because these designations contain the names of two gods...and these are supposed to be Monotheistic religions that require you to be faithful to and follow only ONE god. You can`t be an Assyrian Christian..or a Muslim Assyrian...you can be an Iraqi Christian..or an Iraqi Assyrian..or an Iraqi Muslim. The term Assyrian Christian is misleading...you have to choose one god or the other and attach to your god the name of the nation, as that term is understood today, not 2000 years ago and not by a RELIGIOUS group. You can`t be an Assyrian Jew either for the same reason...you must choose ONE god to identify yourself by..that`s the way the game is played these days. Let me guess..I just insulted Christianity..attacked a dear belief...ruined the day for Assyrians, became a Kurd, a traitor and a hater of my people..therefore any real Christian can insult my mother and call my dead father a cocksucker...right? That`s the way it works in Assyria...right? That`s what you have to expect in Assyria if you ask a question..right? That`s how we`re going to behave ourselves in public and what we`ll do to anyone who strays from the rigid path..that`s how a people and a nation grow intellectually...by clamping down on the human mind and squeezing real hard..right? That`s how our ancestots achieved all they did...by never allowing a new thought to surface in Assyria...right? That`s how they led...by being backward and stagnant...right? --------------------- |
