If someone asks for "proof", then they are given it, they basically have two options left: accept it and move on, or deny it by belittling the evidence (without any evidence, of course). Any serious student of history knows the story of the missionary activity of the Church of the East. I don't need to prove it to you. The numbers were 80 million (conservative estimates) whether you choose to believe it or not. And that's without a Constantine, without an army, and without any Romans. Yes, you are right.
