...while we look with anticipation for one millionaire over another one to "save" us...we overlook the basic fact that they're of the same one-party system. Nader's issue is much bigger than this election or these issues...and all the more because they are SUCH important issues...there will be no significantr change if a Dem beats a Repub..that's their One-Party Line to keep us in on our own undoing. People still debate whether Franklin Roosevelt hurt American Capitalism or saved it during the Great Depression in the 30s...had he not introduced some form of social protection there could have been serious upheaval among American workers who then, as now...have all the skills but none of the tools or money and so must rot slowly and watch their families fall apart because "market forces" that bullshit of all bullshit..."determines policy". The Republicans had bankrupted the country then as well and there was nothing in their bag of tricks that could have saved the day...and neither was there much in the Democrat's back pocket...it was time to introduce something new and unheard of for America...and it saved Capitalism so it could live to break us all over again another day...while we were allowed to temporarily "own" the comforts of the bubble gum world we got to live in...till it got repossesed. Neither party has a way out for us now...Nader saw this and was gutsy enough to say it and bear the entire burden for the failures of BOTH parties in people's minds. And as unpopular as he is this time around...he's more right than he ever was. This temporary shot in the arm we're supposed to get with CHANGE is like keeping a torture victim alive and conscious so you can keep working him or her to death. Bandaids won't fix the problem..not by a long shot...and the problem is that much more entrenched that it ever was...until the Wealthy who now make most of their money by breaking the Middle Class have their way UNTIL they break the real backbone of America...the class that made America great, nothing will change unless WE make it change...everyone has had wealthy crooks and exploiters throughout history..it was the rise of the hard-working and inventive and ambitious Middle Class that made America the envy of the world..once long ago...and then our bosses saw the prize...saw our wealth..saw how to drain it..and in the process and to drain it all the faster invented constant warfare and fear..paranoia and desperation, insecurity, reduced benefits no retirement, no pension etc..and since then we've ALLOWED ourselves to be frightened out of our wits, our pay checks gradually shrink, our wives forced to work in order for us to make LESS than we did before and all so the rich can have more money they don't know what to do with...but we get to WATCH them spend it for us....while we're all getting poorer and poorer while they make their excess profits off impovershing us...NOT "growing" anything. If you really understand the plight of America and the ticking of this time bomb that won't go away because Tweedle Dee beats out Tweedle Dum and the worst and most egregious wrongs are ameliorated..so we can go back to a Latte a day to keep the terrors away...you'll refuse to be suckered into it..Let America FIX what's so terribly wrong with its DOMESTIC crisis that's being papered over with foreign and fantastic distractions...else we'll simply have delayed and thereby worsened the disease. It's time to begin and keep insisting....all that will happen if Dems and Repubs continue their policies which vary hardly at all is that One Party Rule will become so entrenched they won't even NEED us one day...like they tested the waters and disenfranchised not just a few thousand voters in Florida..but our ENTIRE Consitutional form of government...and we took it...and the "other side" said that for the GOOD of the nation they would accept this attack on our Constitution...how the hell is that GOOD for us? I'm not going to be panic-induced to join this farce...it can go on without me...as it did the last election. Go back over Dem policies and see where YOU spot the rosy future for anybody. What's a vote count for when you're voting for which of two guys are ruining you? The issue isn't who makes you feel better after you get raped...it's THAT you will get raped by either of your "choices". --------------------- |
