...We used to discuss what he would say sometimes...sometimes I wrote out suggestions...I wrote most of the letters sent under his name during the Ashurbanipal thing..I sort of know what he thinks to say under certain conditions...it's not that he can't express himself very well himself...just needed tweaking sometimes..we all do. Lately a kick in the arse is more in order, but what the hell...as long as people think he's serving...he's serving, right? We need to believe. One of the opporunities that came from the war on Iraq was this gilded dinner once a year..another vast achievement for the idle rich...and we need to let the world know that we have as many as any other camp...after all...we have a monument too, don't we? Ladies and Gentlemen, The last year in Iraq shows us why more than ever our people in Iraq need help. Latest figures show that even more of them have been killed or wounded, had homes destroyed, roofs blown off, arms and leags blown off, heads blown off as well as entire children blown off. I don't know what it says to you when you realize that at no time in Iraq's history has there been this kind of need for loving humantitarian aid than right now. Things may have been bad while Saddam was in power...they may have gotten worse since the first Gulf War and during Sanctions...but they are really horrible now...and to me this means one thing...O-P-P-O-R-T-U-N-I-T-Y. And this, my friends, gives us outside Iraq the best chance we've had. When I think of all we've been able to do since Iraq was reduced to this mess, I'm thrilled with the way you have all responded. Sometimes I think, "what would I be doing now if things hadn't gotten this bad"? Would I be putting together these dinners? No. Would I have been able to inspire all these dedicated volunteers to work for an entire year preparing and serving up my career? Hardly. Would I have gotten the press I have? What do you think? But, thanks to these awful events that began when the United States reached out a hand to help our people...everyone has come together to with one voice to say, "ask not what Narsai ever did for me...ask how come I never did anything for Narsai before". I can tell you I will never stop promoting myself and these relief efforts and all my name brand has achieved...and I only hope you'll be there to help me help us pound Iraq and save it...so you can all continue doing your small part to push my product. (hehe)...I'm reminded of Rumsfeld's recent "Peace Push" comment...I have a modest joke of my own...how about a PRODUCT PUSH this year huh? You like that one??? When people say to you "Remember Simele"!...you be sure to remind them, "Remember Chocolate Decadence Sauce"!!!! (heheheh) Here's to another upscale yet tragic year. sincerely, Narsai M David food products, books, lectures, cooking shows, interviews and radio spots. --------------------- |
