POSTER'S NOTE

Dr. Samuel Moffett, Professor Emeritus at Princeton Theological Seminary, historian and a Christian missionary, wrote this book.
So it is clearly biased towards the Christians. And in this fact lies the true beauty of this paragraph. It allows me to hang Dean and his fellow Church of the East Christians with their own rope.

What the paragraph tells the reader is that the Persians were tolerating the Church of the East and Christianity in their Empire until they began not only forcing their religion onto others BUT attacking the fire temples of Zoroastrian worshippers!

Moffett himself states "The Shah could scarcely ignore open desecration of the state temples and the destruction of religious peace in his realm."

That's right it was Christianity and Church of the East brand that was disrupting the Persian Empire. What amazes me is the way the Shah handles the barbarians. He doesn't have them all annihalated as would a Christian in his position he actually attempts to use pursuasion with them and the most extreme measures he is willing to use with these violent thugs is simply beatings similar to the type the Americans dish out to detainees at Abu Gharib on a daily basis.

P.S. I have shot more sacred cows in the past 2 months than you could imagine.
