Hey...that IS mine. I'm so grateful that it is. I won't bother putting it up here again, the picture I mean...but while you destroy this best known symbol of our people...I spent several hours carefully repairing a sculpture of Jesus Christ, the best known symbol of your people, that is over 300 years old...it came from Spain long ago and was falling apart. I saw Art and sculpture...and though I think your religion sucks...I respect Jesus, the man. But aside from that, I don't have the kind of love of Ashur that would allow me to destroy a work of Art..I don't care who it's of. Apparently your religion...like the Taliban in Afghanistan, approves of destroying these works of Art, while you expect your own to be respected. I could have seen this wonderful statue of Jesus as pagan art..or Christian art...and felt morally cleansed and justified in destroying it..as you seem to be having an orgasm in advance at the thought of destroying our symbols as well as us...as the Taliban revelled in destroying those magnificent sculptures of the Buddha the entire world lamented...for the sake of decency and Art and Humanity...not because they believe in the Buddha but because they have an aversion to bigotry and hatred when it takes this form especially. So...by all means...you do what your religion and the Taliban enjoy...and I will do what my god asks of me..I will respect the art and artifacts and symbols of anyone's god...but I will NOT let any of it be used to destroy me and mine. Jesus was no threat to anyone...those of you who destroy in his name are no friends of his...but you ARE friends of mine..thank you ever so much. ...try flushing the pieces down your toilet..not you..I mean your actual toilet...you can't imagine how warm and Christian it will make you feel. --------------------- |
