..it could have been anybody...it was the lawyers who presented the case...who represented ALL women who might want an abortion. To hold her up as anything more than the symbol or agent of a long overdue battle is silly. People change as they grow...she changed. Big deal. The essential facts remain the same...there is no "political" debate over abortion...there is religious flummery posing..always posing. We`re never going back..it isn`t a moral issue...just as capital punishment isn`t a moral issue...we`ll get rid of when we realize how flawed our system of justice is..obviously we don`t mind killing...anybody. Women`s Liberation is now a part of the landscape...I have to remind my daughter of the heroic struggle it took to get the simple rights she takes for granted..I want her to read what kinds of Pauls and Deans women had to struggle against all those years they were asking for their own dignity and integrity..we ain`t never going back...there is no debate...WE haven`t had a debate here..we`ve had liars playing tricks...and evading the issue...we answereed theirs..we said it is MURDER..I een named the baby Bob...we addmitted it is HORRIBLE...and then we brought up the horror of dead mothers...killed in illegal abortions..and they had nothing to stay except more tricks and "hypotheticlas"...when WE speak in abtractions they holler "how DARE you..we`re talking about FLESH and BLOOD"!!...yet if we bring up the dead women and THEIR Flesh and Blood...they go silent. It isn`t a debate..it`s a moral crusade they are on to shove OTHER things down our throat behind a dead fetus...It`s too late..thank Ashur...women will NO LONGER have to die like that. --------------------- |
