I approve banning any network/website/TV/Radio program/station that encourages people to harm others. The Jazerra TV had done everything it can to hurt the Iraqi people and any attempt to instititue any type of democratic processes in Iraq. Aljazeera with its style of reporting has given Extreme Islam the window to spread its racist and dark message to millions watching over the Sattelite. I can give you examples of its reporting that has been nothing but intentionally done to spread despair and hatered. Eeven in a country like the US, the press (TV, Radio, newspaper, etc.) has an obligation and at the same time it is bound by certain rules that are monitored by the FCC that needs to be respected. Everything, including the Freedom of Speech should be within a context of rules, else it will be a junggle. Let us analyze your post? You said, “I approve banning any network/website/TV Radio program/Station.” My comment: Where would you draw the line? And what do you suggest reporters to report? Isn’t that CENSORSHIP? You said “ The Al-Jazerra TV had done everything it can to hurt the Iraqi people and any attempt to institute any type of democratic process in Iraq? My comment: Isn’t “Free Press” part of democratic process? On the contrary, I think when the Interim Government behind closed doors making deals with other countries and each other hurt Iraqi people and more damaging to free democratic process than anything else. In addition, having U.S. ultimate super approval stamp is more damaging to Iraqi people. Do you agree that the mother all Capitalist-U.S.A with 150,000 U.S. soldiers-building military bases around Iraq and 80,000 private securities armies- paramilitaries securing U.S. corporations interest IS NOT LIBERATION OF IRAQ? Do you agree, as Capitalist (wealth concentrated in the hands of few people who owns the mean of production, that is, raw material, factories, machines, etc.,) U.S. is in Iraq for its own and NOT the Iraqi People? You said, “ Al-Jazeera with its style of reporting has given extreme Islam the window to spread its racist and dark message to millions watching over the satellite.” My comment: Billions upon billions NON Muslims and Muslims around the world have said NO to U.S. policies in Iraq and Iraqi Interim Government. Do you think we’re extremists? How do you suggest Al-Jazeera reporters would need to report their NEWS so Iraqi Interim Government/U.S. wouldn’t ban and close their office? You said, “ I can give you examples of its reporting that has been nothing but intentionally done to spread despair and hatred.” My comment: How do you know it was intentionally? You said, “Even in a country like the U.S., the press (TV, Radio, Newspaper, etc.) has an obligation and at the same time it is bound by certain rules that are monitored by the FCC that need to be respected.” My comment: In the Capitalist state that multinational and transnational corporations like GE, Westinghouse, Time Warner, and Fox invested heavily in military industry, do you think they will speak ILL and against the U.S. government policies; They ARE the government. And on “FCC” and “Free Press” I think you need to do little more research. And you said in last paragraph, “Everything, including the Freedom of Speech should be within a context of rules, else it will be a jungle.” My comment: How can we have “Free Press” and “Freedom of Speech” within a context of rules? It is called CENSORSHIP. --------------------- |
