I cannot seriously engage someone who is coming off so aggressive." ...well if that don`t beat all...you have any idea how many times men said that to women..as the men had them in a stranglehold...or to Blacks when they told them not to get so "aggressive" just because their little girls couldn`t play in the park, but, Hey..."adjust to it"? ..Your experience has indeed shaped you...I don`t have to be Black, Gay or Female to FEEL something is not right...and that my agreeing to go along to get along places me and my family in jeopardy for the long haul..that I remain on the side of the opressors and not join hands with the opressed which, but for an accident of fate I could have been among...I can pass for white as easily as you can...I just don`t want to. No one is being "aggressive" towards you..you aren`t taking on the role of a victim..are you? Being passionate in what you feel may make the men you`ve succeded in joining and impressing "nervous"...and they may feel you`re being "aggressive"...but try to relax..it`s Life stuff and we Darkies do it better... To a Feminist as to a male Revolutionary nothing has been accomplished of real significance of a Colin Powell is the first Balck to whatever..this is a man who`se made a Lifetime profession of killing people of color who never did a thing to him...Muhammad Ali had the right stuff when he said he`d go fight no Vietnamese because none of them ever called him Nigger...and especially not for the White Man....I suppose it`s progress of a sort when the people shooting your family dead allow you to hold the gun too...or maybe just load it...or maybe shoot it...maybe it`s progress when a woman becomes the first Attorney General...and then behaves as badly as any man would...has she reached some sort of pinnacle..has she advanced the cause of ALL of us any, or just her own porfolio. Just what IS the purpose of Life anyway? This is a question behind every Revolutionary struggle...and Feminsts are on the Front Lines in this one..your asessment of them as being shrill...when that may be true for some...is no more than the boys in the office would greet them with...congratulations...you made it. --------------------- |
