I am an Aramaic-speaking Semitic Christian from an area of the middle east which was once part of the vast Assyrian empire, but which today part of the modern nation of Turkey. Specifically, I am from one of the Ashirat Tribes of Hakkari - the Tkhouma tribe.

It was the exact area in which the Ten Tribes of Israel were placed in their captivity by the king of Assyria.
