Re: My Argument to Prove David Chibo Wrong -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beth Suryoyo Assyrian (Othuroyo) Forum -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Written by Fred Aprim on 01 Aug 2004 07:55:15: As an answer to: Claim 1 - 27,000 dead Assyrian children, Part 1 of 2 written by Tiglath on 31 Jul 2004 15:02:38: Fact is that the United Nations figures do not mention the Assyrians anywhere in its reports, rather Iraqis. ...fact is when they don`t mention Assyrians when it`s time to vote...or get representation, YOU come on hollering about how your numbers and names are being SUPPRESSED. You do not always USE the lack of mention of your names as "Assyrian" as an excuse to make no claims...so why is it enough for you now? Why aren`t you shouting to the world that you are being denied your NAME? Few points to consider: 1. If we use the non-scienfitic statistics of David Chibo to estimate how many Assyrian children died (if any) from the embargo and apply that same method on the Kurds, we will get the following. ..."if any"??? You`re STILL claiming all the mayhem in Iraq SKIPPED Assyrian Christians??? If 500,000 Iraqi children died (according to certain record claims) ...the agencies and people giving those numbers are the same ones you call upon for help and cite rules of to demand they assist you...are you selective everywhere? and since Kurds make 15-20% of the Iraqi population, therefore, using David Chibo's non-scientific statistics, we will find with simple calculation that 100,000 Kurdish children died from the embargo!! Now, we know that that is not true? The Iraqi Kurds of north of Iraq were free and under the no fly zone and they did not suffer that much from the embargo. How did 100,000 Kurds then died? Therefore, if we take the same procedure that David Chibo used in regards to the Assyrians and apply that same procedure on the Kurds, it shows us how unrealistic and silly the conclusions are. ...you are lying again. The United Nations knows full well about the No-Fly zone...they gave figures for ALL of Iraq...for you to choose as the locus of your proooves the area where Sanctions were weakest and deduce that Sanctions therefore were weak elsewhere is silly.. By your own statement you see that Kurds are not in the rest of Iraq...but up north where Sanctions were weakest...why WOULD 100,000 Kurdish children die if almost all Kurds were up north? ...when the United States lied to the Kurds to get them to rise against Saddam and left them to get killed in retaliation...how come no Iraqi children died then? 2. On the other side, an embargo meant hardship to the relatively poor among the population. The not well doing in Iraq were in the south and a part of centeral Iraq. There is very small community of Assyrians in the south and mainly in Basra. ...that`s bullshit. You hill boys mean again that ONLy villagers count among you as "real" Assyrians...that`s from a population of "fake" Assyrians who moved long ago into the mainstream of Iraqi society and are alive and well in Baghdad..as they are all over the polace...the only Assyrians to you are Christians and among them the only real, real Assyrian Christians are hill tribes up north...the rest simply don`t count to you. We are talkin about ALL Christian Assyrians..whether you call them traitors for getting jobs and running businesses in major cities or not. Meanwhile, we all know that the Assyrians in Baghdad could not be considered poor and could be categorized as part of the middle class (generally speaking). Additionally, many Assyrian families in the Diaspora consistently sent money and assistance to their relatives and friends in Iraq. ...Saddam had money...Sanctions were not intended to rob families of their savings..they were meant to deny the stuff they needed to BUY...they can`t eat money...they can`t wash in money..the infratstructure of Iraq was ruined deliberately to inflict maximum suffering on all the people. You present no numbers for Assyrian Christian populations..once again you just SAY things are so...and your hairy tribesmen are more than eager to buy your crap...what happened to all the facts you love so much...and what sort of humanitarian are you when, like any ghoul, you count the number of dead and WHERE they died and WHO killed them as proof of your "love"? 3. When Assyrians die of some unusual causes or are killed, chances are that we will hear about them. It is strange therefore to think of thousands of Assyrians dying while the church in Iraq remained quiet and none of us heard about that. It just does not make sense. Reports were reaching us when a single Assyrian was being abducted, assasinated, forced out of his land etc. Why did not we hear of a daily death of so many Assyrian children? ..because those reprots all had a Muslim as the perp...that is the WHOLE point dufus...that you people ONLY report a thing if it benefits you. The names of Majdolin and her children were kept OUT of your field of vision by YOU..you all knew their names..or could have found out...you could have sent condolences..you could have condemned the killers...but you remain silent to this day...what does that indicate to us...Mr. Fred? If we take all three points in consideration, we can find that David Chibo's calculation methods are more than primitive; they make no sense. ...thank Ashur you respondses. The sort of people you are and who buy you at such a discounted price...can have you and you can all dwell in oblivion...these debates are intended for others to read and consider...it is a "victory" just to get you to speak out...we`ll leave the rest to chance. We never wanted to dictate the truth and ban and delete those who argue with us effectively...we just wanted you to not be afriad to engage..or better yet, to feel you HAD to say something...anything. That was the whole point. Fred --------------------- |
