there is no point to trying to be liked..or not offend...the fault, my dear Brutus, lies not with you...it is in the rest of the world.

It's like living in fear that someone of us in the community will spread gossip about you. What can you possibly do to avoid it? Those who spread gossip also make it up when things are slow...so that if eveyone was as good as a saint...they'd be shocked to hear they were fucking the priest...cause it just got too dull for those who make it up when they have nothing ready-made.

I realized some time ago that it's really rather liberating actually...if I EVER felt like running down the street naked at noon...or doing drugs..or having ten mistresses...I now was free to do those things because word was going out that I already WAS...so why not?

A rat bastard is a rat bastard..that kind of person isn't going to be dissuaded by your charms or politeness.

You won't face that kind of attack here because the kind of person who would attack you is over at the Christian forums and dasn't dare set foot in the place. I've been rudely and most impolitely slapping them around for years and they utter not a peep.

We're Pagans here and Pagans know how to respect all kinds of people because we have all kinds of gods and take NONE of it seriously IF it means disrespecting the person who has ten gods of her own..as we have fifty of ours...gods become like opinions...we're able to take all kinds of opinions and not consign someone to hell because we accept all kinds of gods and don't consign people to everlasting damnation for different gods OR different opinions.

The only origianl idea the Hebrews gave to the world and the one that fit in best with the Roman Empire anyway, not to menton every bigot of their day who wanted to impose himself on others by claiming god TOLD him to...was Intolerance and Murderous Certainty in defense of it. That's all Monotheism is...and the proof lies in the number of gods we STILL have...obviously there is NO Monotheism...just murder in favor of your own god.

No one has been able to explain to anyone else what is so wonderful about Monotheism...an Emperor can tell you why being one is better than being a mere king..it even says it all in the title "King of Kings"...THAT's what an Emperor is and that was the logical conclusion to consolidation in Heaven too, "As it is on Earth"..of making an Emperor-God to rule over all the mere king-gods..only THIS Emperor-god wanted to KILL all the rest and their followers too...they were "traitors" to his Empire..don't you know.

Here too you see a glaring difference between Hebrews and the Christian religion they gave the world and our own Ashurism...our Emperor welcomed all gods and their people too...there was no reason, and everything to be lost, by killing all those he conquered or destroying their identities along with their gods..breaking their hearts as well and loosening the bonds that held families together and even gave people hope that one day they might be free and still have their gods and identities intact to go back to, if they wanted to..and none did. We were out to BUILD and hence needed everyone we could get so that taking care of people different than ourselves was of utmost importance..even if it was for the greater glory of OUR god..who did not revel and take delight in the sight of people butchered merely because they were an offense to him by not accepting him as the ONLY game in town.

The Hebrews HAD nothing to build..they couldn't when their lives depended on it...they couldn't even figure out how to irrigate a field so that if the rains failed one year they wouldn't have to go sacrifice their own children to their god...I mean all the time they sat around re-writing our religion and myths they could have been trying to invent better water retention and irigation but NO..they were doing THAT kind of "Lord's Work",,,,stealing from others...when they should have been figuring out a way to SAVE their own children and feed themselves...which they STILL can't do but must be funded by others.

The Hebrew god just wanted obedience and then exclusivity...he wasn't about building a damn thing except extending his cult everywhere...and that meant a whole lot of murder, which also fit in nicely with the Romans and THEIR cult of the Emperor as a murderous and intolerant "GOD" on earth.

And we got that from them..if we had anything at all today we really wanted to build or HAD to do..we wouldn't care WHO we were or WHAT..if your hosue is on fire you don't check to see if the Firemen or neighbors are PURE or NOT ARABS...you want that fire put OUT...not each other's eyes. The Assyrians had great plans that included building over half of the civilization Putzes like Dean and Paul now enjoy,,,and want to re-write the sources of...AGAIN, just like they re-wrote our history. To achieve their goal..for which they've been trashed by the Hebrews and our own boys...they needed EVERYBODY and needed them as healthy and happy as possble, (there could be no such thing as wasting people, "for the lord")..so they'd feel better and get to work..and that meant not driving their spirts and gods into the ground.

The Hebrews were out to DESTROY..they were envious of the Assyrians, Egyptians, Persians, you name it...to them pulling civilization apart for a barbaric bloodthirty god WAS "culture"..and look at us today...when Intolerant Christian Monotheism has killed off the Jews and is now at work on Muslims. Their religion played in nicely with the human tendency to "blood lust"..which the murder of Jesus and the cannibalizing of his body reflects...this tendency to Blood, and moreover, elevates to a RELIGION OF LOVE.

Assyrians had all the same failings and weaknesses and being prone to violence was a part of everyone's make-up...but the Assyrian religion tried to harness those forces to BUILD...as if the more we built and develped and invented and refined, the less idle time we had to sit around dreaming of reasons to kill each other and of course in the process we grew more complex as a culture and that leads to wisdom in time.

There is a very good reason the cities of Babylon, Ninevah and Ashur, among others were so damn different than anything the Jews ever built...and that reason was Ashur first of all and Tolerance and Acceptance of differences and NOT seeing them as things to be stamped out...but to be included in a culture's overall fabric making it even richer...


Our religion..our belief that the heavens are not for Humans but the realm of the gods...ALL of them...meant we focused on THIS earth...and doing so we wanted to build the best damn Haven we could HERE..and to do that we needed people..lots and lots of people..and their reward would be to live in it as FULL citizens and participants with their gods by their side...whereas the Hebrews and those influenced by their religion told people that their heaven would come AFTER they died and be somewhere else...and even that their lowly status and humiliation on earth would win them an even GREATER place in the sky...and wasn't THAT a nifty of MonoGodism?

What the Hebrews imagined heaven would be like...can you see it coming?...was EXACTLY what we built in BetNahrain ON EARTH...like the Epic of Gilgamesh tells us to.

Anyway...you're safe from that kind of bigotry here...but you aren't saved anything by being polite here...not where it counts..here we have all sorts of rude IDEAS...but no rude people.
