Shlama Alokh Khizmie,

>Dear Paul,
>
>With all due respect to your religous beliefs. I would like to discuss your website and the study of the P'Shitta.

OK.

>My question to you is did you undertake the study of an Aramaic Bible in order to return to the modern Bible's original Aramaic sources and hence better understand your Christian religion?

Partly, but mainly because the Greeks and Romans had hijacked Christianity and turned it from a Semitic-based religion into a Indo-European based religion.

The main reason why I am working on the translation is because if you want to understand Moses you should study Hebrew - and if you want to understand Muhammad (curses be upon him) you should study Arabic, and if you want to understand Meshikha you should study Aramaic.

The western world has turned Meshikha into a Greek-speaking man with European looks and language. That is simply not the historical Meshikha.

The New Testament was written in Surath, not Greek.

>Now if you want to revert to the Bible's original sources why not return to our very own cuneiform tablets, the root of the three main monotheistic religions of our day.

There is much in common, yes.

>I've said this before but now I want to ask you.
>
>You do realise that the Assyrian antecedent of Noah is none other than Napishtim from the Epic of Gilgamesh who collected two animals of every kind and built an ark.

Actually, Utnapishtim is Sumerian and not Assyrian.

And you do realize that the Hebrew patriarchs are descended from Uruk, right?

>Just as the Babylonian King Hammurabi's code of laws preceded Moses's abridged Ten commandments.

Of course, the people who were later called "Hebrews" came from the same area of Beth-Nahrin.

You do know that the word "Hebrew" comes from the Surath "Habar" which means "those who crossed over", right? They are Beth-Nahrinites who "crossed over" the Euphrates river into Canaan.

>Just as the Akkadian poem, I Will Praise the Lord of Wisdom (Ludlul bel nemeqi) which deals with the problem of the righteous sufferer, was written before the Book of Job.

Of course there are similarities - the Hebrews are from Beth-Nahrin.

>Let's not forget the ancient Sumerian love poems written to commemorate the sacred marriage of the Godess Ishtar and God Tammuz appears to have been plagarised in the "Song of Solomon."

Sumerian, Akkadian culture is part of the "Hebrew" ancestry.

>As well as this it was the Akkadian King Sargon who was found floating down a river as a babe years before Moses.

Yes, babies down rivers sounded like a common thing. Surely you don't believe that Sargon was the only baby ever sent floating down a river?

>It was also the God Enki(Ea) who came down and forced people to speak in tongues way before the Jewish god Yawheh came down and stopped the tower of Babel.

Of course there are similiarities. The Sumerians lived through the same events that the Hebrews did - they were one and the same people in Beth-Nahrin. The Jews today are descended from us.

Did you expect them not to remember their own heritage?

>In fact you will discover that most of that book, except for Psalm 137:8-9, has been heavily influenced by the ancient Mesopotamian myths epics and poetry.

The OT is harder on the Jews than on any other people, including Egyptians, Canaanites and Babylonians.

I bet you anything many an Assyrian was praying Psalm 137 when Babylon destroyed Nineveh and smashed Assyrian children against stones. Don't you feel so?

>So if you must return to the original sources of the Hebrew Bible why not go directly to the tablets from which they were copied?

I don't understand Akkadian. I understand Surath, Ateeqa and modern. If I understood Akkadian, I would do that believe me.

Take care,
Paul
