thank you for that...it gave me the same goose bumps it did back when...that raised fist and forearm was the first sculpture I ever did...at 19...the next was a horrible but heart-felt portrait of Che...and after that came Lenin...any clues there? Looking at it again and remembering that Black people were being hunted down by the FBI and murdered as they slept..that an entire neighborhood in Philly was torched to the ground by police and all the other things Blacks have suffered in America in their struggle for dignity for all Iraqis...and to think of the guts and love it took to stand there among all those people and act in such a beautifully peaceful yet defiant way, knowing they would catch hell for it...and they did...makes be proud to be one of the few Afro-Assyrians on this planet. --------------------- |
