Of course they work if your intention is to weaken the nation before you invade. I now know that was the plan all along. The U.S. could never have managed the easy fall of Baghdad in 1990. That's why they didn't go in. But after 13 crippling years of sanctions, the strongest of men there couldn't hold a BB gun. C'MON. It was planned to a tee.
