Dearest Dalale, I once met an incredible Chaldean girl in school who was also a big fan of these books. She told me that she didn't believe in Christianity, but in the ancient religion that the ancients believed in, with Ea, Enlil, etc. And she said the exact same thing that you did...it sounds outlandish, but keep an open mind. I never did take her advice and read the books, because I was thinking the same thing that Tiglath said to you. **************I am not against Christianity at all and I believe in Christ, but I also believe in the evolution of Religion, and I know that Biblical Authors translated cuneiform text and included parts of the "Enuma Elish" as well as other cuneiform text as part of Genesis. Ea/Enlil, Enki, Inanna, Anu, etc existed thousands of years ago if you believe in the stories which were translates from the clay tablets in Beth Nahrain, and people who study cuneiform have translated it (not only Zacharia Sitchin) explain that these beings were "God'(s)" or higher spiritual beings.... like it or not, that's what our ancient text says.. I was just stating the obvious to anyone who has read any translations of cuneiform! Tiglath claims to believe in Ashur and his Ancient Religion so i'm just letting him know what has been translated from cuneiform about the predecessors of the Assyrians who were the Sumerians, who the Assyrians inherited much of their religion and culture from.. I have read a lot about our history and I believe in Zacharia Sitchin's work because it seems to be accurate, from my point of view. Criticize the man and his work after you have read his books.. Is it possible to come to a conclusion concerning his work if you have not read any of his work? Read one of his books and then disagree, that at least would make sense. I always keep an open mind and i'm not set in my point of view. Tiglath said he would like to know more about my point of view, and he mentioned the Enuma Elish etc..and the Enuma Elish which has been translated by many Sumerologists was also translated by Sitchin.........read all the Sumerologists opinions and come to your own conclusions...anyway........... making up your own mind based on your own thoughts and beliefs rather then thinking the same thing that others do would at least make your opinions original. I was introduced to Zacharia Sitchins work and books by a Armenian Archeologist from the Netherlands and her husband a Biologist who teaches at Leiden University. They saw my interest in history and spilled a few Archeological Secrets to me, one of them Zacharia Sitchins books. It's strange that people who are not Assyrians are much more knowledgeable in cuneiform text and the translations of it then people from our culture who claim to be Assyrian. Nonetheless, I respect your point of view, and I don't have a problem with agreeing to disagree! All the best to you... --------------------- |
