Thanks Tiglath...Assyrians everywhere are proud of you and grateful too for speaking up for ALL our murdered people...in this case ALL our Christian people killed by American Christians with the blessings and help and pay of their own fellow Christians...this can only be perceived as an "attack" by the Christians among us who wanted this to happen and want more of it...the rest of us see this as helping shed light on recent crimes done against us...and not only those of Pasha Bob in 876 AD.

(Since on July 16, 2004, you stated: But I promise you this I am investigating taking the Australian Government to court for helping enforce sanctions that killed an estimated 27,000 Christian Assyrian children during the past 11 years and for a further estimated 600 innocent Assyrians killed during the illegal invasion of Iraq.)

Today the www.iraqbodycount.net site’s maximum body count estimate passed 13,305.
It’s minimum body count of innocent Iraq civilians, not military or insurgents killed during this U.S. invasion is also estimated at 11,336.

With Assyrians making up roughly 5% of the Iraqi population it’s not hard to roughly estimate that the Assyrian people have conservatively lost between 550 to 650 innocent civilian lives as a direct result of this war. And according to the Hague convention, of which the U.S. is a signatory, they bear direct responsibility for the protection of civilians under their occupation. This number ignores the percentage of Assyrians of the estimated 15,000 Iraqi servicemen who were killed defending Iraq against this latest invasion.

Now in this case it can be argued with logic that the Assyrian community in Iraq has suffered proportionally more as a percentage of their population than other ethnic groups as we have actively worked with the U.S. and been punished for doing so.

This list contains the names of a handful of Assyrian civilians killed as a result of the US-led military intervention in Iraq. These names appear in press and media reports from Iraq.

Assyrian Victims as reported in the Media
=========================================
This list contains a handful of press and media reports in which Assyrians have been the victims of the US-led military intervention in Iraq;
1. Iraqi Village Reportedly Bombed, 4th April, 2003 http://www.acsa.nu/artikel.asp?lankid=25&artid=330
2. At ease in Saddam's palace, Tuesday April 8, 2003

3. Bomb crater leaves clues, all in pieces, April 16, 2003

4. Woman who lost children, sight in Iraq struggles to cope, 20th October, 2003
http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/world/iraq/20031020-9999_1m20iraqi.html
5. Two U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq mortar attack: Insurgents kill 4 women, 2 Iraqi police in separate incidents, January 22, 2004

Therefore Mr. Speaker I contend that my estimate of 600 is not only valid and supported by facts as presented in this post but it’s also a very conservative estimate.

It’s unfortunate that this estimate will continue to grow in the months and years ahead.
