Whatcha Lookin At Productions is making a documentary show on young Arab, Muslim, Palestinian, Iraqi, Iranian, or Afghani Americans (etc.) caught between two cultures --struggling to balance their political and social convictions and what their parents believe and have taught them. We want to hear about your experience caught between these two worlds and why your story would make a good television show. -Do your political or social beliefs conflict with those of your parents and/or community? Be specific about what your beliefs are and what the conflict is. -Do you want to visit Palestine but your parents/family are fearful of the dangers and cultural differences? -Do your thoughts about political situations overseas (i.e. in Iraq/Afghanistan/Palestine) differ from those of your family and friends? Tell us about it. -Have you ever hidden your political beliefs from your family, teachers, and/or friends because you're afraid your views differ? -Are you planning on taking action, becoming an activist, but worried about the reaction you will receive from friends and family? -We are looking for young Arab Americans/Palestinian Americans (etc.) who are facing a cultural or religious conflict with their family, friends, and/or community. Specifically, we want outspoken individuals who find their personal religious, political, or social beliefs are in conflict with their parents (i.e. you are opposed to US occupation, while parents support the war). If you are between the ages of 16 and 27 and want to be on television, we want to hear from you. Tell us an anecdote that shows how you manage your personal beliefs in opposition to your family/culture's politics and activism. Please be advised that this is a candid, honest show that will treat your situation with sensitivity and sincere consideration. Our goal is to produce a quality story to share with young viewers. Please email me by FRIDAY, JULY 30 at Jonathan@whatcha-lookin-at.com to share your story! Thanks, Jonathan Groce Whatcha Lookin At Productions 226 W. 27th Street - 3rd Floor New York, NY 10001 Jonathan@whatcha-lookin-at.com --------------------- |
