...there's little doubt. I can't help but think if this pretty boxer were loose on the streets of Baghdad, even if it had a headscarve on...no American would shoot it.

She's not eating...or eating less and less. She lookds like a cadaver...she still gets around but looks so old and fragile...I know something new is coming because all day she followed me around...head drooping, feet barely moving...shuffling along and now just walked over to stand here leaning against me...she never did this before. If I go to the studio she comes along after and sits at my feet...I can feel her weight pressing against me...when I look in her eyes she seems to look back accusingly..maybe it's my imagination...but she's not eating like she did and this staying close to me tells me she's afraid...or just feels safer close to me...though I can do nothing for but kill her.

I think of starving children, how much "older" the look, how serious...like there isn't anything funny or light any longer and they can't remember when there was..that's the way Bronte looks now. If she gets worse...if she can't clean herself or bothers to move to go for a walk and relieve herself...just lays there in her mess...I can justify having her killed...it isn't "sleep",,it's death.

You can't do that with your child...no matter how much more your heart aches at their terrible suffering and your uselessness...especially when you know over across the border...a meaningless line where children are concerned, there's plenty of food..and if you're Muslim you have to accept the obvious..that for no good reason than that they wanted to...Christians did this to your child...how much more bitter it must be for Christians in Iraq....what do they do...pray to the same god the people who did this to them pray to?

I swear these religions make people stupid...make them murderous and also make them unable to grasp the simplest realities..when the guy who shoots your child prays to the same god the doctor prays to who tries to heal your child..it's time to take a closer look at what this god does to PEOPLE.

I can kill my dog...I'd have to watch my dear child die...suffering even more than I'd put a dog through....remember, god spelled backward IS Dog.
