..for the position he or she holds. My mother told me to always respect someone if their conduct and beliefs deserve it, never for their age or status. It`s sound advice...especially if the day ever comes when someone steals the Presidency and instals a lot of crooks and quacks into positions that traditionally carry unquestioning respect with them. It isn`t like you refuse to respect anybody when you refuse to respect their office, title, checkbook or status. It`s because you want to really feel the respect, that you demand to be given reasons for respecting someone. If it`s just automatic...then you could find yourself taking someone like Bush seriously. Imagine respecting Buttcroft. For what? For the fact that Bush stole the presidency and put him there? Never respect people for any other reason than who those people actually are and what they do. Look at Kanna...talk about making a silk purse out of a pig`s ear. Everyone is calling him "Honorable" and "His Excellency", mostly because they want to flatter themselves and empty words come easiest to empty heads...and why? What`s he done? Not a damn thing but get put among a bunch of other puppets. Why in Ashur`s name should Assyrians respect puppets? What does that make of us? That was the point of "The Emperor`s New Clothes". Never mind the tittle...if the guy`s bare ass is hanging out and he thinks you should think it`s a gorgeous plume...an Assyrian would tell him it`s just his ass. Why do these Christians want to weaken and slander and slime us so? How dare they say our ancestors were hiding behind closed doors in villages in the hills waiting on Judaism to come give them courage. In so many ways they show just how much they hate that there ever was an Assyria...that their bloodlines are tainted...no matter how much they may TALK about the great Assyrians..what they reserve their passions and their bucks for is a Jew...plain and simple. Nothing wrong with it except that Assyrians need to speak up and take back the name and the Heritage. Let Christians stand on their own and stop using Ashur`s great name. --------------------- |
