I don`t understand how it undermines Kerry to show that he went along with the rest of the country when this illegal war was first proposed..and now..like so many people in the country..has changed his mind once the Bush LIES were exposed. Everyone who BELIEVED their president, whatever their reasoning, believed the war was necessary! Why does Kerry have to dodge this issue? Are you supposed to stay in a bad course of action? Which of us thinks that`s noble? Nixon was all for the war in Vietnam..hell he was the biggest commie hunter we had..yet he openned up dealings with China..and he was president when the Vietnam War ended..even though he authorized the illegal bombing of Cambodia..another nation we didn`t declare war on because we COULDN^T..they hadn`t DONE anything to us...like Iraq never did either but so what? A leader who foolishly stays the course will not win anything..he`s too stupid to and besides, you don`t WIN wars anymore..not like that...the WIN you get now comes when your country DECLARES the war..that`s when the Treasury gets emptied into your corporate account. All Johnson achieved by "hanging tough" was get more innocent people killed..that`s all. There`s no way America could have won a war with Asia..no way...as there`s no way it`s going to win a war against Islam or the MidEast, not even against Iraq..just won`t happen for to win a war today in THAT way would mean beggaring AND destroying yourself into the bargain. Bush isn`t going to crush anybody...Johnson and Nixon couldn`t either..they made people MORE determined...they INCREASED the ranks of those willing to die fighting...and they INCREASED the losses their own countries suffered but they ALL got richer doing it...ALL of them...and in the end...they just went back home having accomplished nothing praiseworthy..certainly none of their supposed goals in going there...and they ALL dump on the ex-servicemen whose lives they played this game with. --------------------- |
