The 1 9 3 3 incident -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Beth Suryoyo Assyrian (Othuroyo) Forum -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Written by Ashur Beth-Shlimon on 15 Jul 2004 03:48:18: ...this is what I!m talking about...I wept as I read this my head ached so trying to figure out when Simele moved to Massachusttes...which I think is the central point in this attempt to tell the truth...the 1674th one about Simele...I!ll go through it and spare others the headache. Dear all: I am reading all your messages about the incident of 1933, and here as an ordenary person I will pitch in with what information I collected with one of the leaders who is the late Malik LUCO SHLIMON BETHDAVID/ BADAWI, even though my father who patrticipated in such battle that took place in those hot days of August. ....some ornery person on a hot day in 1933 pitched a game for the Badawi Mud Hens. I will be very breif to give my own information as follow: ...someone told me > The Assyrians who were from HAKKIARE area after they were camping in Baquba near Baghdad they were dispersed in the country side of north of Iraq / Assyria. ...some Assyrians got lost. > There didn't enjoy security and stability because they met harassment from Q...sh , they complained to the Iraqi authority but the Iraqi authority didn't pay attention, keep in mind that Iraq was governed by Arabs from Syria, Q...S, Turks, and an Arab who was installed king of the newly state Mesopotamia, which the Arab king changed to Iraq. ...Mesopotamia was changed to Arabia...and stables were built with no authority. > As all of us know the Assyrians sent deligations to GENEVA to the Leage of Nations, unfortunately all their efforts were invain. ...Assyrians wanted to play in the Big Leagues but had to settle for a sandlot but got lost again. Over twenty years ago I questioned Malik Luco , who was very close freind to my father about the incident of 1933 and this what he said: ...this is what he said... At the time Mar Shamaoun was under house arrest in Baghdad, and later was taken by one Assyrian officer with a group of Assyrians by force from his place and left by the help of the British to Cyprus. That Assyrian gallant was Malik Gewarges of Tkhoma, here excuse me is not my intention to bring tribalism here the only reason is to state what happened. ....a tribe no one wants to mention, Thkoma, took the Assyrian pitcher and forced him to Britain...after Cypress. > The Patriarch before leaving Baghdad sent a message to Malik Yacu Malik Ismael and Malik Luco Badawi that they could go with their men to the Iraqi Syrian border at the location which is called ' FISH KHABUR ' which is located south where river Khabur(in Iraq not that in Syria) meet Tigers river itself and to cross the river wher they will meet a FRINCH AUTHORITY where will give them instruction what to do. ...The French know fish...the Assyrians wanted to dine in Syria. > When the Assyrians arrived there and questioned the French authority where they say that DON'T have any kaknowledge of such thing. At that time the Iraqi authority were in contact with the French . And at this time the French authority DISARMED our people and then they came not to accept the Assyrians and told them they should go back and such step was taken because of the British mandate pressure. ...in Syria the French don!t have fish after all...but the British tell them to not to be disarmed by such stories and eat anyway. They were hungry after crossing the river. > At this time, the French must knew what will happen, they let the Assyrians go with their arms and they gave some signes to be careful. ....The French, angry over the Assyrians wanting fish in Syria, tell them to go back and eat their arms in Iraq instead. They flip them off as they cross back. > The Assyrian number start of the incident as my father told me were around 800 men, but by that time were around 500 or less than 600 , the rest smuggled themselves back in dark night, a very good number of them were killed by the Q...S. ...out of 500 Assyrian men, the good ones were killed in the dark by Q---------y. > As the Assyrians were crossing the river the Iraqi forces who were camping the other side opened fire, then our people cross the river very fast and took their fighting positions. ..some Iraqis were camping in Iraq...our people wanted to camp too. >The Iraqi army was deafeated badly even though they were more in numbers and in equipments. ...Iraq lost...and our people got to camp next. Note: No question that the Assyrian people made mistakes as any other people will do, but here the CRIMENAL ACT was done by General Sidqi and the Arab king GHAZI because: ...Christians can do no wrong...while other`s make mistakes, the only mistake an Assyrian makes is being killed by a Christian...lots of mistakes happen. The Assyrians didn't start the fighting, Iraqi forces did that - The French knew this in advance, that is the reason gave the Assyrians their weapons back and also informed them without fight we can't accept you- that was the reason this fighting force went back to Syria again. ...Assyrians wandered back and forth over rivers looking for fish and a camping spot till they could get shot... The Assyrians didn't attacked unarmed Q...s or others, the Iraqi Army under the SIDQI q..d thug who slaughtered our unarmed, elderly, women, men and children. My uncle told me that one Armenian Newspaper wrote: ..Armenian newspapers are run by men women and children...one of whom said:... " .. The Assyrian gallants defeated badly Sidqi's army, while this FOX - Sidqi revenged in the hens- Unarmed, women, men and children- of Seimmel " ...Foxes and chickens get children killed. Ashur Beth-Shlimon ...I trust that clears this up further. Anyone else have the truth? _________________________________ --------------------- |
