..and nothing.

Odd thing...nowhere else would anyone else dream of citing "talking a lot" as proof positive of anything...except the inability to DO much of anything. No one believes a surgeon who talks a lot about his ability or experience or training yet dilligently stays out of the operating room. Who would believe an airplane pilot who talked a lot about the planes he's flown yet never steps into one?

How did the boys ever get the idea and spread it around like honeyed bullshit that to be any kind of Assyrian at all you have to talk about it a lot...while doing nothing about it? Every "call to action" falls on deaf ears...every "great" and "historic" event has fifteen people showing up, hoping to dance later. Who chose such a simple and simple-minded definition of what constitutes being a "prowd" Assyrian anyway...a way that just so happens to clear the decks for the Church?

These are lip-service Assyrians and not much better when it comes to being Christian either. Having had this phony Jew religion foisted onto them..being raised to do IT service...their basic lack of interest in it and it's superficial hold on them becomes clear for all to see when they achieve that one thing they were TOLD all along was everything in life to them AND the very bedrock of "being Assyrian"...I mean the complete freedom and security to practically live in their friggin church, if they feel like it...once "safe" in the Christian West. That's when we finally see how the very "core" of their identity is hollow.

In the MidEast it made some sense to huddle in the shadow of the church...and adding the name "Assyrian" to every church function and picnic and tea party made it appear they were doing something Assyrian while on their knees supplicating a Jew god...very like adding the name of our ancient Heritage to their Christian faith made it APPEAR there was something Assyrian there.

But...when they reach the blessed shores of the Christian countries they always yearned to live in..like now they would finally be free and unfettered so they could achieve great Christian AND "Assyrian" things...they produce nothing of the latter and only a bit of the former...and all the while the future looms ahead in which the churches they build will be used by less and less Christians cause it's no big deal to be Christian in a Christian country...Christ is "safe" and kicking ass in the West...no need to feel sorry for him there.

Like pinning all your hopes for an Assyrian Heritage on a language not used ahywhere outside the bedroom or kitchen as the one sure sign that people are Assyrian means...if the language goes...there go the "Assyrians" with it. The entire system of signs, indications and proooves of who an Assyrian is and what being an Assyrian means is based on very shakey pillars and posts...never the
kinds of mush our ancients used to build their palaces on OR their identity. "Assyria" sits atop some scrawny sticks and twigs over a bog...kick any one rotting support out from under it and the whole thing falls into the swamp it's been built atop. That "swamp" is Christianity...

In the end the churches won't much be used by anyone...and meanwhile not a single "Assyrian" thing has been done...because being Assyrian was synonymouse with being Christian all along...in fact it DERIVED from being Christian...you have to BE Christian before you can claim to be Assyrian (like you used to have to be a Jew first before you could be a Christian, in the beginning) AND you had to "talk a lot", being mindfull that you never DID anything that could rock their shakey nuthouse. And when that Christian foundation slips and buckles from neglect, lack of interest and because it was never a natural fit for the people of Ashur...there goes the entire "Assyrian" identity...whih is exactly what's happening in the West...where we were all supposed to be Christian "safe".

Nowhere else is talking seen as action and then talking "A Lot"...seen as a LOT of action....in no other way or place could you make such a claim..but the boys are actually PROUD they talk about it so much. And they claim this talk is so profound and volatile and potentially devastating to several apple carts that "enemy" people are "out to get them".

Why? In the final analysis they don't dare even TALK! And, as a final irony, they don't make any sense in ANY language...but it bothers them not at all..as if this "talk" is only for their own sakes anyway...who cares if it MEANS anything to anyone else, or makes any sense?

Could it BE easier to be "Assyrian"?
