Oddly Enough - UK Reuters Bush monkey portrait sparks protests Mon Dec 13, 3:52 PM ET By Larry Fine NEW YORK (Reuters) - A portrait of President George W. Bush (news - web sites) using monkeys to form his image has led to the closure of a New York art exhibition over the weekend and anguished protests over freedom of expression. "Bush Monkeys," a small acrylic on canvas by Chris Savido, created the stir at the Chelsea Market public space, leading the market's managers to close down the 60-piece show that was scheduled to stay up for the next month. ...so much for freedom and democracy. Hell, you'd think we lived in an Assyrian Art exhibit somewhere in the basement of a Chicago hotel. What's the matter with everybody? can no one laugh any more unless it's official laughter? ...the good news is that this gurantees the artist fame and fortune.
