¨Why don’t we have an Assyrian military in the north? I heard it was dismantled to appease the Kurds but now why can't we revive it?

I can almost certainly assure you that if we did revive it, it would be increased with thousands of Assyrians, young and old alike throughout the world returning home to fight for our Assyrian rights.

...it´s odd, but then so are we....she later expresses her dismay at the dismal voter turn out...yet thousands would go back to Iraq to FIGHT!!! Let´s get real. Yammering about being Assyrian is easy...too easy. No one expects you to DO anything meaningful about it...get on the nightly news once every fifty years and it´s considered significant...a self published piece of tripe by Aprim is a ¨milestone¨.

...There are 150,000 American troops plus several others there now backed by the most wealthy and powerful nation on earth and all they´ve managed to do is get more of themselves killed faster and of course stoke the fires of the Freedom Fighters..increasing their numbers and sharpenning their resolve and skills.

...even if ten thousand ÿoung and old¨rushed back¨ to Iraq from their TV sets in Turlock and lattes in Chicago...what the hell could they do...

...and I do wish we´d all stop calling for a Christian MILITIA to go fight Iraqis. Are we crazy...in the first place you know damn well you aren´t going to get one...they were afraid to vote...remember. All these ridiculous calls do is make the Christians back there even more insecure...more likely to be viewed as just what the people of Simele were and the Christians of Turkey ie, potential traitors within the country it might be wise to get rid of ahead of time.

Come on Janey...you all had your chance to make some intelligent and lasting statement about your pride etc. In fairness, you and the Chaldeans didn´t blow it...that job was reserved for Assyrians...Nimrod and Jackie Bejan to be exact, but also your husband...Atour Golani...he of the welding torch.

What on earth were you all thinking. And now you write publicly that Christians should go back to Iraq and FIGHT!!! Honestly.

Just close your eyes and imagine the strength and the power of our Assyrians fighting for our nation as they once did in the past. I am not questioning how Mr. Kanna has handled the survival of our people in the north, because I think that no one could have done a better job with what we were handed, but when we make our own bed, we lay in it, and it is our own choosing of who is in that bed with us.

...face facts...instead of closing your eyes...open them!!! The Christians who didn´t run to the West, unlike yourselves...have no fantasies of a homeland or protected area or any of that...they know how to get along in a Muslim Iraq and were doing just fine. The jackassess who made the call to TAKE BACK Assyria have been killed, jailed and killed or shown to the door...it is they who are making all the fuss and all they´ve managed to achieve is to make matters worse for those who did NOT want to leave.

...that leaves the rest of us...who accept history...learn to live with life as it is and must be...for Christianity is a spent force in the MidEast...BUT, who yearn to bring our culture and Heritage to the FOREFRONT...center stage, HERE in America and the West. Those were the Assyrians and Chaldeans trying to make our art and heritage a part of the dominant culture...for one thing as the best way there is to give some pride to our own children...instead you all freaked out and took to praising Bush for murdering Iraq..and now you want some Christians to go back there and join in...or take over..or whatever it is you want.

...get real. You had your chance. Next time marry a Chaldean.
