Eight Killed in Attack on U.S. Mission in Jeddah
(Reuters) - Muslim militants stormed the heavily fortified U.S. consulate in Jeddah on Monday, killing five non-American staffers, before Saudi forces shot dead three attackers and captured two to regain control. It was the first major militant assault in Saudi Arabia since May. The bloodshed in the Red Sea port indicated that the fight against Saudi-born Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network in the world's biggest oil exporter is far from over.

...I'll bet King George felt the Colonists were "just that way". We refuse to look at OUR part in pissing Muslims off to such an extent that a percentage of them will not stand another minute of abuse by the West. We don't take responsibility for the actions of our government done in our name. We don't want to admit that our blind support and use of Israel has engendered a reasoned response that by the nature of the problem turns increasingly violent...yet seems so unreasonable to us because we refuse to accept responsibility for the violence we brought to bear in the first place. Thinking like this is making people more and more stupid when they are prevented from seeing such a clear case of cause and effect and instead come up with wild theories about how Islam MAKES people irrationally violent.

We Christians are the ones who've visited violence on each other for centuries...first in Europe and then in the New World, through two world wars and counting...

...We make our enemies...just as the robber barons and industrialists gave birth to the Labor Movement. No one in his or her right mind CHOSE to go out on strike...to lose wages, to face starvation, to be beaten by strike breakers...American workers asked nothing more than a fair wage and working conditions, in return for which they gave their all and built this nation.

...Muslims want peace...want it so badly they overlooked all sorts of provocations no American would stand for. They were pushed and pushed and frustrated to the point where desperation finally kicked in...but WE started it...and now we blame our victims for striking back.
