...for the life of me I don't understand where we "Assyrians", without a damn bit of proof that we are in any way connected to the ancients EXCEPT for religion, a religion we don't even SHARE with the ancients...can cast stones at Chaldeans...by accusing them of doing the same.

...Aprim famously asked for ONE document proving the Chaldeans of today are connected in any way to the ancient Chaldeans...the fact that he has yet to provide ONE document that says he is connected to the ancient Assyrians, doesn't trouble him at all...he simply says "I know I am". Then why the hell can't a Chaldean say the SAME THING!

All of the proof you have proves nothing...just as all the arguments that we MUST be Assyrians prove the same nothing...it is, at bottom, a FEELING...for all of us. And from what Chaldeans have DONE I'd say they have proven who they are. The one indisputable fact is that we are now IRAQIS...the people of Uruk...anyone who argues with that seems to be so out of it as to be an Aprim.

Rather than say, "whatever you wish dear, but we all know we are ASSYRIANS"...it seems to me to be gentler and kinder and also much more accurate to say we are Iraqis...and let it go at that..and rather than revive Ashur or Christ...let's revive Iraq.
