For one thing, and I take this observation from Tiglath, Assyrian Christians definitely DO pray to a god who advocates dashing the brains of our children against rocks...I don't care how many times yahwe says "nice" things about us...what he says should be DONE to our children is enough for me. ...Christian Assyrians may not THINK they are "destroying" their children, but their single-minded pursuit of all things Christian, merely tacking on the name "Assyrian"...does indeed destroy any real feeling for what we claim are our roots...you can't raise your chuildren to hate their grandparents, love their parents and come out of it with a sound sense of self...something stinks at the very beginning. So far I've heard no coherent explanation for why the Assyrians would dump Ashur for Jesus...which they THEN praise themselves for doing...but damn anyone who wants to go back the other way and dump Jesus this time around. ..I doubt I would ever hear a Jew say that he or she became MORE of a Jew as soon as he stopped believing in that "silly" and outmoded yahwe...
